Kenosha Sheriff Offers His Opinion on Trump in Staggering Op-Ed

Kenosha County Wisconson Sheriff David Beth has added his name to the list of almost 40 Wisconsin Sheriffs who have endorsed President Donald Trump, partially due to his support during their recent riots and violence.

“I saw first-hand the support, gratitude and steadfast resolve our president holds for the law enforcement community,” Beth said in an Op-Ed published by USA Today on Friday. “The president arrived with a plan to provide the critical resources needed to keep our community safe.”

Beth spoke to the support that the president extended to his and other counties when protesters became violent and both people and property were in danger.

“Whatever you need, it’s coming,” the president reportedly told Beth.

“It was a powerful moment for us,” the Wisconsin sheriff said. “While we know our local and state partners are the best in the business, having the extra support of our federal partners was absolutely critical in quelling the violence.

“The president’s swift and bold response to support our law enforcement family and my community made it clear that he’s the strong leader Wisconsin and America needs. It’s also why I am proud to endorse President Trump for re-election this fall.”

According to Beth, he is joining 38 other sheriffs from his home state to endorse Trump, and the law enforcement official thinks that the president’s strong show of support for his brothers in blue will make a difference, for him and for them.

“At a time when violence is popping up in communities across the country, picking our nation’s top leader is more important than ever,” Beth said. “Wisconsin, and all of America, needs a leader who will uphold the law, or we won’t have a country left.”

Beth compared Trump to other politicians talking about how they are hesitant to back law enforcement and that their lack of stance on the very laws that their governmental institutions enacted, could spell trouble in the longterm for adults’ today in their children and grandchildren’s lives.

According to Beth, the president is worried about a future that is ruled by the lawless:

“President Trump refuses to cave to those who continue to demonize law enforcement and scapegoat the police. He stands proudly shoulder to shoulder with the men and women of law enforcement.

“He will uphold law and order and support officers and deputies across Wisconsin and throughout the country, understanding the vital role law enforcement plays in keeping communities safe. He refuses to play politics with the brave men and women who are on the front lines of serving and protecting their communities as members of law enforcement every single day.

“President Trump will never abandon law enforcement and I am confident that voters across Wisconsin and America will agree. When I entered law enforcement 38 years ago, I vowed to work as hard as I could to improve the quality of life for all citizens. I look for the same qualities in a presidential candidate, and President Donald Trump is the only one who will answer the call and stand up for the great police and sheriff’s departments, and do what is right for the American people

Kenosha became a household name after a 17-year-old who got in the middle of rioters to put out a fire and lend aid, opened fire on some men who were attacking him. He is believed to be responsible for at least one death, and the possible death of a second and injury of a third. Conservatives and liberals are harshly divided on whether the shooting was justified, despite video footage that shows the teen shooting while being attacked.
